The Save the Date has begun to replace the engagement announcement. These are sent to announce the date and location of the upcoming wedding to ensure everyone marks their calendar in advance and allows plenty of time to plan a vacation around the wedding. This is a perfect time to throw in a little touch of color if have your wedding colors picked out. An engagement picture is a nice touch and can be incorporated easily into the design or can simply be included in the envelope.
Save the Dates seem to be the most fun piece of wedding stationary because it can be playful to include a fun picture of the couple, different fonts then would be traditionally used on an invitation or playful wording. Instead of a typical announcement style, Save the Dates can be a magnet, a postcard, made into a fun shape or include a sticker for the calendar.
